Quetta, January 20, 2026: A high-level meeting on wheat price stabilization and price control was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Anwar Kakar in Quetta. The session focused on ensuring the availability of wheat at government-fixed rates and taking measures against hoarding and profiteering.
Representatives from the Department of Industry, Department of Food, Assistant Commissioner Kachlak, relevant magistrates, traders’ associations, flour mill and retailer associations, and the Chamber of Commerce attended the meeting. The discussions emphasized coordinated efforts to prevent exploitation and protect consumers.
Addressing the meeting, ADC Muhammad Anwar Kakar stressed that strict enforcement of fixed wheat prices would be ensured and violators would face legal action without exception. He warned that hoarding and unfair profiteering would not be tolerated. All stakeholders pledged full cooperation with the district administration and agreed to take joint measures to safeguard public interest and provide relief to citizens.
