QUETTA: Quetta Division Commissioner Shahzaib Khan Kakar has assured that the provincial government will extend full assistance to traders and shopkeepers affected by the recent fire at Liaqat Bazaar, ensuring all possible measures are taken to compensate losses and restore normalcy.
Today, Commissioner Kakar carried out a thorough inspection of the fire-affected plaza, accompanied by Rahim Khan Kakar, President of Anjuman Tajran Balochistan, and other business leaders and shop owners. During the visit, he examined damaged shops and sections of the plaza while receiving a detailed briefing from the traders’ association regarding the fire’s impact and the extent of commercial and property losses.
In meetings with the affected traders, Commissioner Kakar assured them that a comprehensive investigative report would be prepared by the district administration and police. Based on the findings, recommendations for relief and compensation would be submitted to higher authorities for prompt action.
He praised the coordinated response of Rescue 1122, the Fire Brigade, district administration, and other agencies, which successfully controlled the blaze after several hours of continuous efforts. Thankfully, no casualties were reported, although significant damage occurred to goods and property.
Commissioner Kakar emphasized that the government would take high-level steps to provide relief to the affected traders and strengthen preventive safety measures to avert similar incidents in the future.
The visit highlights the provincial administration’s commitment to public safety and its proactive stance in supporting the business community during emergencies, ensuring swift response and mitigation of losses.
