PDMA Completes Rescue Operation in Snow-Hit Balochistan Areas

Quetta, Jan 23: Balochistan Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has successfully completed rescue operations in areas severely affected by heavy snowfall, rescuing dozens of stranded passengers and shifting them to safe locations, said Assistant Chief Minister for Political and Media Affairs Shahid Rind on Thursday.
He said that despite extreme cold and harsh weather conditions, PDMA teams, district administration and rescue personnel carried out their duties with dedication, helping save hundreds of valuable lives. The successful operation, he added, reflects the Balochistan government’s preparedness, effective strategy and strong inter-institutional coordination.
Shahid Rind said Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has appreciated the overall performance of PDMA and commended all teams involved in the rescue efforts. He added that, on the chief minister’s directive, performance certificates will be awarded to officers and field teams in recognition of their services.
He said the provincial government is further strengthening PDMA’s capacity to ensure swift and effective response to future emergencies.
