Karachi, Jan 23: A brave police officer embraced martyrdom while protecting civilians during an armed encounter with dacoits on the Sukkur–Shikarpur Road, drawing tributes from senior police leadership and public representatives.
According to Sindh Police, Station House Officer (SHO) Laki Ghulam Shah, Khameeso Khan Brohi, was martyred after sustaining critical bullet injuries while responding to reports of a robbery attempt involving passengers travelling in a coach. He confronted the armed criminals with courage and professionalism, preventing them from carrying out their criminal intentions.
Inspector General of Police Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, paid rich tribute to the martyred officer, stating that SHO Khameeso Brohi sacrificed his life in the line of duty while ensuring public safety. Expressing deep condolences to the bereaved family, the IG said the sacrifice of the fallen officer would not go in vain and assured that those responsible would be brought to justice.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Larkana Range, Nasser Aftab, also condemned the attack and reiterated that Sindh Police remains resolute in its mission to eliminate crime and protect citizens. He described the martyred SHO as a fearless, disciplined and duty-bound officer.
Funeral prayers of the martyred SHO were offered at Police Lines Shikarpur, attended by senior police officials, district administration, Rangers personnel, family members and a large number of citizens. Police officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and law and order across the province.
