Quetta: Balochistan CM Announces Strict Action Against Illegal Mining
Quetta — Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has stated that the province’s mineral resources are the collective property of its people, and any illegal activity will not be tolerated. During a joint operation by the district administration and law enforcement in Pishin, 47 illegal chromite mines were sealed. CM Bugti highlighted that illegal mining not only harms provincial revenue but also poses a serious challenge to law enforcement. He emphasized that the Balochistan government is introducing a comprehensive policy to ensure transparency, legal compliance, promote investment, and increase provincial revenue. The policy will also benefit local communities directly. CM Bugti reaffirmed that the people of Balochistan have the primary right to the province’s natural resources, and the government will safeguard these resources, ensure their effective use, and protect public interest at every level.
