Washington: Recent research indicates that short daytime naps can enhance the brain’s ability to retain new information. Published in Journal NeuroImage, the study found that napping reorganizes neural connections, preparing the brain to process details more efficiently. Previously, these benefits were attributed only to full night’s sleep. Scientists noted that brief naps also restore cognitive functions temporarily, supporting memory consolidation and improving learning, though they cannot fully replace nightly sleep
