Security companies operating in Usta Muhammad have come under fire for allegedly exploiting unemployed youth by enforcing long working hours on extremely low wages. According to public complaints, security guards are made to work 12 to 15 hours daily but are paid only Rs12,000 to Rs15,000 per month, without overtime or emergency leave.
Residents stated that educated but unemployed youth are forced to accept such jobs to support their families. Guards are reportedly required to purchase uniforms and accessories from their own pockets, further increasing financial stress. Workers who raise concerns are allegedly terminated without notice.
Public circles have demanded that the Balochistan government take immediate action, fix a minimum salary of Rs37,000 for security guards and ensure overtime compensation. They urged Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and the Chief Secretary to cancel licenses of companies violating labor laws.
Citizens emphasized that fair wages are essential to restore dignity, motivation and professionalism among security personnel.
