Bela, Jan 25, 2026:
Serious concerns have emerged over the introduction of an online attendance system for supervisors and Lady Health Workers under the National Health Program in Bela, Lasbela district. Public representatives argue that frequent electricity outages, poor internet connectivity and lack of smartphones make the system impractical in remote and rural areas.
Workers have reported that the attendance application often fails to open or shows incorrect locations, causing unnecessary stress and fear of disciplinary action. Many Lady Health Workers serve in villages where internet facilities are unavailable, making digital attendance nearly impossible.
Public circles have stressed that supervisors and Lady Health Workers in Bela are hardworking and their attendance record has never been questioned. They appealed to the Chief Minister Balochistan, federal and provincial health authorities to withdraw the decision and adopt a practical mechanism suited to ground realities.
They warned that ignoring these challenges could demoralize frontline health workers and disrupt essential healthcare services in underserved communities.
