Independent Report
Uthal, Jan 25, 2026:
Inflation has reached alarming levels in Uthal, Lasbela district, where the price of a 35-kilogram flour bag has crossed Rs5,000, pushing daily wage earners and low-income families into severe hardship. Residents say that even two meals a day have become difficult to manage.
Citizens have urged the government to immediately establish subsidized markets to provide relief to the poor. With Ramadan approaching, public concern is growing that unchecked inflation will further worsen living conditions during the holy month.
Local residents warned that if prices of flour and other essential commodities are not reduced before Ramadan, the situation could turn critical. They demanded immediate administrative action to control prices and ensure availability of basic food items.
Public circles emphasized that failure to curb inflation would deepen poverty and social unrest, urging authorities to take urgent and effective measures to protect vulnerable segments of society.
