Ziarat: Following heavy snowfall in Ziarat and its surrounding areas, municipal authorities have launched an immediate and comprehensive snow clearance operation to restore road connectivity and ensure smooth traffic flow for residents and visitors.
On the special directives of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Provincial Adviser for Local Government and Rural Development, and Secretary Local Government Abdul Raouf Baloch, the Municipal Committee Ziarat initiated emergency measures to deal with the situation arising from severe weather conditions.
Under the direct supervision of Chairman Municipal Committee Ziarat Hizbullah Khan Kakar and Chief Officer Muhammad Jaffar, municipal staff along with heavy machinery were deployed across the district. Snow is being cleared from city roads, main highways and important link routes to facilitate uninterrupted movement and prevent inconvenience to the public.
According to the district administration, persistent snowfall and extreme cold had increased the risk of road blockages and disruption of daily life. In response, municipal teams were placed on high alert, and snow removal operations have been carried out continuously without interruption. Both mechanical equipment and manual labour are being used, with priority given to main highways, marketplaces and public places.
Officials stated that the provincial government was fully committed to ensuring public safety and convenience during harsh weather conditions, and all relevant departments had been mobilized to respond promptly to any emergency.
Residents of Ziarat appreciated the timely and effective action taken by the provincial government, district administration and municipal authorities, stating that the snow clearance operation had played a vital role in restoring normal life and easing hardships caused by the heavy snowfall.
