HARIPUR: Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority Kashif Iqbal Jilani has directed food safety teams to take indiscriminate action against the adulteration mafia and the sale of substandard and hazardous food items, warning that no negligence or leniency will be tolerated.
During a visit to the Haripur Food Safety Office, the DG held a detailed meeting with district administrative officers to review food safety enforcement. Director Technical Dr Abdul Sattar Shah and Director Finance Zahir Mehmood were also present.
Later, Jilani visited the Hattar Industrial Estate along with the local food safety team and inspected various production units. All stages of production, from raw materials to finished products, were examined.
Expressing satisfaction over hygiene arrangements and quality standards, the DG appreciated factory owners and stressed strict compliance with food safety laws and SOPs, reiterating that providing safe food to citizens remains the authority’s top priority.
