Punjab Enters Digital Era as CM Leads AI Training for Ministers

Lahore, Jan 27: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif led the province’s first-ever artificial intelligence (AI) training session for provincial ministers, marking the start of what she called a new digital era in Punjab.
The workshop, “Empowering Punjab with AI,” guided ministers on AI tools in governance and policymaking, with experts from Google for Education briefing participants. The CM declared AI use mandatory in schools and approved the establishment of a Google Tech Valley Digital Transformation Advisory Board.
The initiative includes master training for 3,000 teachers, digital IDs for over 300,000 students, and 1,000 scholarships to promote digital journalism. CM Sharif emphasized responsible AI use for reforms and efficient policymaking.
