Quetta, February 4, 2026: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has issued an unequivocal warning that government jobs in the province will not be sold, declaring merit-based recruitment a non-negotiable pillar of his administration.
Reaffirming his commitment to transparency and good governance, the Chief Minister said the provincial government is undertaking concrete measures to create respectable employment opportunities for the youth. He revealed that advertisements for over 25,000 government posts from Grade 1 to Grade 15 have already been issued to ensure open and fair competition strictly on merit.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Mir Sarfraz Bugti disclosed that summaries for 4,000 vacant positions in Grade 16 and Grade 17 have been formally forwarded to the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC), ensuring recruitment through a constitutional, transparent, and impartial mechanism.
He stated that departments where testing and interview processes have been completed will issue appointment orders without delay, preventing unnecessary hardship for candidates. For remaining departments, he announced the introduction of an online testing system—modeled on the Finance Department’s framework—to eliminate favoritism and guarantee merit-based selection.
“Merit and transparency form the backbone of good governance, and my government will not compromise on these principles,” the Chief Minister asserted. Reiterating his resolve, he said, “I stand by my word—no one will be allowed to sell jobs that rightfully belong to the people of Balochistan.”
He concluded by emphasizing that the provincial government will not permit anyone to gamble with the future of the youth, assuring that every deserving candidate will receive his or her rightful opportunity strictly on merit.
