Tariq Khan Ind: Terror Networks Crushed as Balochistan Regains Stability Through Decisive Security Action

Independent Report

Quetta (Friday):

The Balochistan government on Friday declared that security forces have decisively countered recent coordinated attempts by anti-state elements to disrupt peace across the province, restoring stability after a wave of attacks on public and sensitive installations. The operations resulted in the killing of 216 terrorists, while 22 security personnel and 36 civilians were martyred during the violence.

The details were shared during a joint press conference held at the Chief Minister’s House, where political affairs spokesperson Shahid Rand, along with Provincial Ministers Bakhsh Muhammad Kakar and Haji Ali Madad Jattak, Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, and Additional Home Secretary Hamza Shafqat, briefed the media on the evolving security situation and counterterrorism measures.

The officials revealed that more than 100 suspected terrorists have been arrested in Quetta, with law enforcement agencies actively tracing their links and dismantling associated networks. They said security forces acted swiftly against attacks on police stations, strategic locations, and public spaces, preventing widespread disruption and keeping major highways operational throughout the province. Restoration work on certain routes in Noshki is currently underway.

According to the briefing, emergency protocols were immediately enforced at hospitals in Quetta and other districts to provide timely medical treatment to the injured. Authorities also ensured close oversight of healthcare facilities to prevent any misuse during the crisis.

The government assured the public that despite the recent incidents, essential activities would proceed without interruption. Matriculation examinations and the ongoing polio vaccination campaign will continue as planned. Mobile internet services in Quetta have also been restored to support communication and public coordination.

Officials called on families of individuals involved in terrorist activities to assist authorities by identifying those responsible, warning that failure to cooperate could lead to legal action. They further stated that investigations are in progress into attacks on two provincial jails, with efforts underway to locate and apprehend escaped prisoners.

Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar commended the health department’s rapid response, noting that timely medical intervention and emergency preparedness helped avert additional loss of life and ensured patient safety.

Reaffirming the government’s position, the officials stated that the overall situation in Balochistan is now largely under control. Security forces remain on high alert and continue targeted operations in Quetta, Noshki, and other affected areas. The Chief Minister of Balochistan is expected to brief the public in detail through a press conference in the coming days.
