Governor Mandokhail Calls for Stronger NGO Role to Bridge Development Gaps in Balochistan
Independent Report
Quetta:
Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on Friday underscored the importance of public–private collaboration, stating that government institutions alone cannot meet the province’s vast social needs and that private development organizations are vital partners in driving meaningful and lasting social change.
The Governor expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of Muslim Hands at the Governor House Quetta. The delegation was led by Regional Head Malik Naeem, while Attaullah Durrani and Jameel Ahmed were also present during the meeting.
Governor Mandokhail commended Muslim Hands for its continued efforts in the fields of education, healthcare, and the provision of clean drinking water across different districts of Balochistan. He described the organization’s initiatives as a significant contribution toward improving living standards and addressing the needs of underserved communities.
Referring to the province’s distinct demographic and geographic challenges, the Governor noted that Balochistan’s population is thinly spread over vast areas, making the delivery of basic services a complex task for the government on its own. In this context, he emphasized the need for international organizations and non-governmental organizations to actively support government efforts.
The Governor urged development partners and NGOs to broaden the scope of their welfare and relief programs, particularly by extending services to remote and rural regions. He stressed that marginalized populations must be included in development initiatives to ensure balanced progress across the province.
Concluding his remarks, Governor Mandokhail reiterated that close coordination between the public and private sectors is essential for achieving sustainable development and inclusive growth in Balochistan, adding that collective efforts can significantly improve social outcomes for communities across the province.
