Turbat, Feb 9: The University of Turbat on Sunday formally launched its annual Sports Week 2026 with enthusiasm, witnessing active participation from students, faculty members and administrative staff. The event is being organized by the Directorate of Sports with special funding support from Provincial Adviser for Sports and Youth Affairs Meena Majeed.

The opening ceremony was attended by deans of all faculties, registrar, controller examinations, heads of academic and administrative departments, sports officials and a large number of male and female students. A wide range of sports competitions, including cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, futsal, table tennis, athletics, chess and traditional games, are part of the week-long activities.
Addressing the ceremony, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Kamal Ahmed highlighted the role of sports in promoting physical health, discipline and teamwork. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Gul Hassan, in a recorded message, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to promoting co-curricular activities.
Sports competitions will continue until February 13.
