Jacobabad, Feb 9: A protest rally was held in Thull tehsil of Jacobabad district by the United Khoso Movement Pakistan, demanding a transparent inquiry and justice in the alleged abuse case involving Asiya Khoso, who was reportedly subjected to brutality while in police custody.
According to details, protesters marched from Station Road to the Press Club Thull, raising slogans against what they termed a flawed investigation. Demonstrators expressed serious reservations over the role of the FIA team and the medical examination process, calling for the immediate replacement of the investigating officer.
Leaders of the movement rejected the existing medical report of the victim and demanded that the Medical Superintendent of Tehsil Hospital Thull, Dr Abdul Rasheed Noonari, and Lady Doctor Hasna Channa be included in the inquiry. They alleged manipulation of medical and DNA samples, claiming the process lacked transparency.
The protesters further demanded that the investigation be transferred from FIA Larkana to FIA Sukkur, stating that an impartial probe was essential to ensure justice. They warned that protests would continue if their demands were not addressed and stressed that accountability was necessary to restore public trust in law enforcement institutions.
