Quetta, February 16: The Government of Balochistan has launched a major relief initiative for over 328,000 deserving families across the province, as part of a special Ramadan Package aimed at providing essential food supplies to underprivileged households during the holy month.
Speaking to media representatives in Quetta, Director General PDMA, Jahanzeb Khan, said that the package, announced by Chief Minister Balochistan, will be distributed in phases across all districts to ensure that maximum beneficiaries can access the aid. He emphasized that transparency and accountability are at the core of the new distribution system.
To oversee fair allocation, an 8-member District Coordination Committee has been formed in each district, tasked with monitoring the process and preventing misuse. Jahanzeb Khan noted that the distribution has already reached over 20 districts, with the remaining districts expected to receive supplies shortly.
He highlighted that the package has been carefully designed to meet the essential needs of each family for 15 days, ensuring that beneficiaries receive meaningful support throughout Ramadan. “The quality of the packages will not be compromised, and only genuinely needy families will benefit,” he said, adding that no ineligible person will be allowed to take advantage of the program.
The DG stressed that the provincial government is fully committed to supporting vulnerable communities, deploying all available resources to provide maximum relief during the holy month. He urged the public to cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth distribution and equitable access for all eligible families.
This initiative is part of the government’s broader commitment to uplift marginalized communities, improve living standards, and ensure that the blessings of Ramadan reach those most in need.
