Lahore: The Punjab Safe Cities Authority Virtual Blood Bank has once again demonstrated its humanitarian impact by providing timely A+ blood to 16-year-old Fakhra Usman, a cancer patient in critical condition. The child’s father contacted Emergency Helpline 15 from Children’s Hospital Lahore requesting urgent blood assistance for his daughter in the ICU.
Upon receiving the request, a Safe City officer immediately searched the Virtual Blood Bank database to locate a compatible donor. The donor responded without delay and reached the hospital to donate blood, successfully saving the young patient’s life. The family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the PSCA team for their swift and compassionate response.
A PSCA spokesperson confirmed that over 120,000 citizens, police officers, and officials are registered in the Virtual Blood Bank database, which operates 24/7 to ensure immediate blood availability during medical emergencies. Citizens are advised to call Helpline 15 and press 4 for urgent blood assistance. PSCA remains committed to leveraging technology for timely and effective public services.
