PSCA Virtual Women Police Station Ensures Swift Arrest of Rickshaw Driver Harassing Woman in Lahore

Lahore: Pakistan’s first Virtual Women Police Station (VWPS), established under the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, acted promptly to arrest a rickshaw driver involved in harassing a woman on Empress Road, Lahore. The complaint was received via the Safe City Public Safety App, reporting inappropriate and indecent behavior by the driver.

Upon receiving the complaint, VWPS coordinated with the nearest police team through a conference call. Police arrived within 10 minutes, while the Safe City Operations Team traced the rickshaw using advanced surveillance cameras. The suspect was apprehended within 30 minutes, and a case has been registered against him.

PSCA confirmed that initial investigations revealed the suspect had a prior record of similar misconduct. A spokesperson urged women to immediately contact Emergency Helpline 15 or use the Women Safety App in any harassment or safety emergency. PSCA remains fully committed to women’s safety through modern technology and rapid response systems.
