Islamabad, February 18, 2026: Wafaqi Mohtasib, Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, highlighted the institution’s role as a poor man’s court while hosting a 17-member delegation from Tanzania’s Tax Ombudsman Service. During the visit, he briefed delegates on public complaint mechanisms, Khuli Katcheries, Outreach Complaint Resolution, and Informal Dispute Resolution initiatives.
The Ombudsman emphasized Pakistan’s unprecedented 96.8% implementation rate in 2025 across 28 cities and the creation of regional offices in remote areas to ensure citizen accessibility. Delegates appreciated the system and stressed the need for closer professional cooperation. The delegation also visited the Asian Ombudsman Association Secretariat, learning about Pakistan’s leadership role in establishing the association.
This collaboration underscores enhanced transparency, institutional capacity building, and cross-border knowledge exchange in public sector accountability.
