Quetta, February 20: The Standing Committee on Local Government of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly reviewed the Balochistan Animal Slaughter Control Bill 2025 during a meeting held at the Assembly Secretariat. The session was chaired by Member Kulsoom Niaz Baloch and attended by committee members and senior officials.
The committee conducted a clause-by-clause review of the proposed legislation aimed at regulating and improving the animal slaughter system in the province. After detailed deliberations, the committee finalized its recommendations. Officials stated that the bill seeks to ensure hygienic practices, better regulatory oversight, and compliance with legal standards in slaughterhouses across Balochistan.
It was decided that the bill will be presented in the upcoming Assembly session for formal approval. Lawmakers emphasized that modernizing the slaughter system is essential for public health, food safety, and improved governance within the livestock sector.
