Karachi, February 20, 2026: Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam MemonSharjeel Inam Memon, expressed deep regret over recent hate and linguistically biased speeches delivered at a ceremony in Karachi’s Governor House. Speaking in the Sindh Assembly, he said such statements threaten the city’s peace and undermine social harmony.
Sharjeel Inam Memon recalled Karachi’s history of prejudice and linguistic tension, warning that repeated inflammatory remarks could cause irreparable damage. He also criticised the inappropriate targeting of state institutions during the event, stressing that such platforms must not be used to spread bias. The minister said the statements, including those exchanged between MQM representatives, are a serious concern for the city’s brotherhood and civic harmony.
