Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Reviews National Tourism Initiatives with PTDC

Peshawar: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi met with Aftab Rehman, Managing Director of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), at the Governor House to review ongoing tourism projects and initiatives across the country.
During the meeting, Governor Kundi received a detailed briefing on PTDC’s objectives, nationwide promotional campaigns, and key programs including the launch of tourism and hospitality services under the “Salam Pakistan” brand, tourism symposiums, investment expos, ASEAN Pakistan Tourism Business Forum, Buddhist Tourism Conference, and the National Tourism Awards 2025.
The briefing also highlighted the National Tour Guides Program for Chitral, Kalash, and Naran, youth training initiatives in hotel management and other tourism sectors, as well as promotional winter sports events. PTDC’s 19 motels have also been handed over to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
Governor Kundi emphasized that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s natural beauty, historical heritage, and cultural diversity provide immense tourism potential. He noted that developing the tourism sector can strengthen the economy and create new employment opportunities, while assuring government support for infrastructure, basic facilities, and security at tourist sites to ensure a positive experience for domestic and international visitors.
Commending PTDC’s efforts, the Governor highlighted that effective coordination between federal and provincial authorities is crucial to further activate and stabilize the tourism sector.
