Islamabad, February 21: Islamabad Police arrested three members of an organized robbery gang, including its ringleader, allegedly involved in multiple house robberies.
Police said the suspects — Muneeb Sohail, Muhammad Faheem and Iftikhar Ahmed — posed as representatives of a courier service and used bogus mobile SIMs to call residents to their gates before entering homes at gunpoint. The accused were wanted by Lohibher Police.
Stolen goods worth over Rs17.3 million were recovered, including Pakistani and foreign currency, luxury watches, mobile phones, gold ornaments and weapons used in the crimes. DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq said operations against organized gangs are continuing, adding that protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the force’s top priority.
Separately, Islamabad Traffic Police arrested five bikers for wheelie riding on highways and impounded their motorcycles. Over 35 heavy vehicles were fined for lane violations and overloading as part of a special enforcement drive ahead of Ramadan.
