Islamabad, February 21: Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), underscored the importance of equality, human dignity and linguistic inclusion in her messages marking World Day of Social Justice and International Mother Language Day.
On World Day of Social Justice, she said protection of vulnerable segments remains a state priority, stressing that sustainable and equitable societies cannot be built without social justice. She termed BISP a practical instrument for promoting economic security, particularly for women and deserving families, and reaffirmed the resolve that no citizen should be left behind in the development process.
Marking International Mother Language Day, Khalid described mother tongues as the foundation of identity, culture and heritage. She said linguistic diversity is Pakistan’s strength and emphasized that education in one’s mother language ensures a brighter future for children. She added that BISP believes in outreach to beneficiaries in their own languages to promote social inclusion and national cohesion.
