Karachi, February 21, 2026: The Sindh government has approved the introduction of additional buses in Karachi to improve public transport. During a high-level Transport and Mass Transit Department meeting chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, officials reviewed the Red Line BRT project and city transport upgrades.
Memon instructed all agencies to accelerate construction, implement alternative traffic plans, and strengthen public awareness campaigns. He emphasized that bus routes would target areas with maximum travel difficulties, ensuring safe, affordable, and dignified transit. Work on the second section of the Senator Taj Haider Bridge was also directed to begin promptly.
