Karachi, February 21: Pakistan Coast Guards organized a public burning ceremony near Hasan Shah Mazaar to destroy smuggled and prohibited items. The event was attended by military and civil officials along with dignitaries from various sectors.
Items destroyed included 9,720 kg of chaliya, 31,313 kg of Indian gutka, 450 kg of naswar, 10,250 kg of China salt, 6,655 packs of foreign cigarettes, 5,259 kg of katha and gurako, 90 kg of poppy seeds, and banned medicines, valued at approximately Rs 123 million in the global market. The Coast Guards stressed their ongoing commitment to combating smuggling and drugs to protect the national economy.
