Independent Report
Quetta, February 22: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has intensified its crackdown on human smuggling networks, with the FIA Anti Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Quetta conducting a successful raid that led to the arrest of a sub-agent and the rescue of eight Afghan nationals.
According to officials, the arrested suspect, identified as Irfan, was operating as a sub-agent and driver for a larger human trafficking network. During the operation, authorities also took into custody eight Afghan nationals who were allegedly being transported as part of an illegal smuggling attempt.
Two key facilitators, Gulbadin and Ghamai, have been nominated in the case. Law enforcement agencies have launched efforts to apprehend them at the earliest.
Investigators recovered a mobile phone from the accused containing WhatsApp chats, images, and digital records that reportedly provide substantial evidence of his involvement in human smuggling activities. A vehicle and a rickshaw used in the commission of the crime were also seized.
Officials further revealed that the arrested sub-agent maintained direct contact with Afghanistan-based handlers, identified as Taj Muhammad and Kamil, suggesting cross-border coordination in the smuggling network.
Further investigation is underway to trace additional accomplices and dismantle the broader network.
