Province-Wide Offensive Against Smuggling and Tax Evasion to Be Stepped Up, Says Haji Muhammad Khan Lehri

Quetta, Feb 22  : Parliamentary Secretary for Excise Haji Muhammad Khan Lehri has declared that enforcement actions targeting illegal trade, smuggling, and tax evasion throughout the province are being further strengthened to protect public revenue and uphold the rule of law.
During a meeting with a delegation of journalists, Lehri stated that comprehensive steps are underway to enhance the operational efficiency of the Excise Department and reinforce law enforcement structures. He underlined that curbing unlawful economic activities is crucial for safeguarding government income and bolstering the province’s financial stability.
He noted that Excise officials have been instructed to conduct operations impartially, warning that any form of negligence or leniency in implementing the law will not be accepted. Firm and sustained measures, he said, are indispensable to counter tax evasion and other illegal practices that negatively impact the economy.
Haji Muhammad Khan Lehri emphasized the importance of public support in eliminating unlawful activities, urging citizens to inform authorities about suspicious dealings and illegal operations. He observed that coordinated efforts between the public and the government are essential for achieving durable results.
Reiterating the administration’s commitment, the Parliamentary Secretary affirmed that strict legal proceedings against those involved in illegal trade and tax evasion will persist, making it clear that violators will not evade accountability.
