QUETTA: In a significant and historic move for development of agriculture sector and welfare of the farmers, the Government of Balochistan has decided to introduce Benazir Kisan Card in the province.
In this regard, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti accorded approval to the Kisan Card named after Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.
According to the official handout issued here on Thursday, the Chief Minister approved the Benazir Kisan Card on summary of the Agriculture Department.
The spokesman of Provincial Government, Shahid Rind informed that the subsidy would be given to the small growers of Balochistan under Kisan Card.
The spokesman said that the Chief Minister has given approval of the first phase of Kisan Card.
The cloud system would be established by the Information Technology the Kisan Card for for two years.
According to the spokesman, the Kisan Card is part of the vision of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
Shahid Rind mentioned that the Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has directed to work on the comprehensive strategy for welfare of the farmers of Sindh and Balochistan.
He said that the first phase of Kisan Card is being started by the provincial government with its own resources. However, the assistance of federal government would be acquired for its second phase, he maintained.
