Provincial Ombudsman Meets Chief Minister, Presents Annual Report

Islamabad, July 2, 2025 : Sindh Ombudsman Muhammad Sohail Rajput presented the 2024 annual report to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, highlighting a 51% resolution rate for public complaints. The report details the successful resolution of 4,602 out of 9,151 complaints received, resulting in tangible benefits for 2,348 individuals.

The institution addressed a wide range of issues, including pensioners’ concerns, inclusive education for disabled children, and reviews of the Education Department, Police, and Environmental Protection Agency. Proactive intervention regarding LPG cylinder safety regulations demonstrated a commitment to public well-being.

Technological upgrades, including a new mobile application, website, and complaint management system, enhanced public access and operational efficiency. A “Brand Ambassador Program” developed with universities aims to educate youth about the Ombudsman’s function.

International partnerships with counterpart organizations and public feedback mechanisms demonstrate the institution’s growing reach and transparency. The document includes multilingual questions and informational sections, reinforcing its relevance within Sindh.

The Chief Minister commended the Ombudsman’s performance, particularly in serving marginalized communities. The comprehensive report showcases both achievements and future strategies for strengthening public trust and government accountability
