Quetta, October 28, 2025: Balochistan Launches “People’s Minority Card” to Promote Social and Economic Development of Minorities

The Balochistan government has announced the issuance of the People’s Minority Card to facilitate the social and economic development of minority communities in the province. Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, said that under the program, minorities will receive support in health, education, employment, and business opportunities.

For the current fiscal year, Rs 50 crore has been allocated to the Minority Endowment Fund for the effective implementation of the initiative, with plans to increase the budget to Rs 1 billion in the next fiscal year.

Mir Sarfaraz Bugti emphasized that the protection of minority rights and their welfare is a top priority for the Balochistan government. He said the program will launch supportive projects for minority communities, and a modern digital monitoring system will ensure transparent and efficient use of the fund.

The program’s final details are being shaped in consultation with minority leaders. CM Bugti said, “The People’s Minority Card will serve as a practical step toward social equality and interfaith harmony in Balochistan. The progress and prosperity of minorities will further strengthen the province’s overall social cohesion.”

The consultation session was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Minority Affairs Sanjay Kumar, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, and other relevant officials.
