Chief Secretary Balochistan Meets Gates Foundation Deputy Director to Strengthen Immunization Program

Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, held a meeting with Michael Galloway, Deputy Director for Polio at the Gates Foundation, to discuss strategies for enhancing the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) in the province.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan highlighted key initiatives aimed at improving vaccination coverage to ensure higher immunization rates among children and reduce the risk of disease outbreaks. He noted that no polio cases have been reported in the province this year and emphasized integrating routine vaccinations into polio campaigns.
Michael Galloway lauded the provincial leadership for its exemplary efforts in polio eradication and sought cooperation for the upcoming Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign, scheduled to begin on November 17.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation continues to support Pakistan’s EPI through its partnership with the health department, aiming to expand vaccine coverage and strengthen the health system, ensuring life-saving vaccines reach children effectively and equitably.
