Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan Sardar Sarfaraz Bugti held a key meeting on Tuesday with Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, to discuss comprehensive measures for the promotion of education, skills development, employment, and intellectual growth among the youth of Balochistan.

During the meeting, both leaders agreed on enhanced collaboration between the Prime Minister’s Youth Program and the Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Program to strengthen youth capacity, provide better employment opportunities, and ensure their active participation in the national development process.

CM Bugti emphasized that Balochistan’s youth are full of talent, determination, and enthusiasm. He highlighted that, unfortunately, a deliberate campaign had previously created mistrust among the youth against the state. However, the current provincial government is committed to providing youth with hope, stability, and pathways to productive employment. He further underlined that mistakes in governance cannot be blamed on the state, and unbalanced development does not justify violent behavior.

“The government listens to the youth on every forum, understands their concerns, and convinces them with reason and facts that Pakistan guarantees a safe, dignified, and bright future,” CM Bugti said. He added that awareness about Balochistan’s historical and social realities is essential, and there is no space for hate or divisive politics, as Pakistan’s unity remains the country’s greatest strength. He reaffirmed that the youth are Balochistan’s pride and the nation’s future, and empowering them is key to a prosperous province and country.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan expressed satisfaction with the provincial government’s initiatives under CM Bugti’s leadership and assured full cooperation to support youth welfare programs in Balochistan.

High-Level Health Sector Meeting to Address Nursing Shortage

On the same day, CM Bugti chaired a high-level health sector meeting to review the shortage of nurses and healthcare staff, training standards, and future requirements across the province. Officials reported that Balochistan currently requires approximately 10,000 nurses, but only 1,700 are deployed, creating significant challenges in the healthcare system.

To address this, the provincial government has decided to establish nursing colleges in all divisions and key districts under a public-private partnership model. With the support of Khyber Medical University, these colleges are expected to produce around 2,000 trained nurses annually, ensuring sustainable strengthening of the healthcare system.

CM Bugti emphasized that the government is developing comprehensive training programs aligned with global healthcare standards, creating internationally recognized and dignified employment opportunities for Balochistan’s youth. These initiatives aim to empower skilled young professionals to serve both locally and internationally, while strengthening the province’s health infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakr, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, senior health officials, and representatives from Khyber Medical University. Divisional Commissioners across the province joined online to provide input on potential locations for new nursing colleges and offered additional suggestions for program implementation.
