Nasirabad: The Irrigation Department has launched a comprehensive campaign to ensure a bumper Rabi season crop following a successful Kharif season, officials said on Monday. Executive Engineer, Pat Feeder Canal, Fareed Ahmed Pandrani, stated that all available resources are being deployed to maximize agricultural output during the Rabi season.
He added that, under the guidance of Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, and Provincial Secretary for Irrigation, Sohail-ur-Rahman Baloch, zero-point Bhil cleaning operations have commenced in the Rabi Canal and are progressing rapidly. Sub-Divisional Officers Amanullah Gajani and Muhammad Amin Umrani accompanied him during the review, providing detailed briefings on the ongoing canal maintenance work.
Fareed Ahmed Pandrani emphasized that the Irrigation Department is actively ensuring water delivery and removing obstructions, employing machinery to maintain the canal system efficiently. “Wherever cleaning is needed, we will take all necessary measures to protect farmers’ interests and ensure maximum crop yields,” he said.
Officials confirmed that water is being supplied to the full capacity of the Rabi Canal, including at RD 418, Mir Hasan, and that no effort will be spared to maintain adequate irrigation up to the tail end of the canal, ensuring financial stability and improved yields for local farmers.
