Karachi, November 8:

The standoff between the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) engineers’ association and the airline’s management intensified on Friday, severely disrupting domestic and international flight operations.

Scores of flights were delayed or cancelled, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at airports across the country. The protesting engineers claim that the management has failed to honour commitments regarding pay scales, service structure, and allowances.

A PIA spokesperson condemned the strike, calling it “a violation of public trust.” The Civil Aviation Authority has urged both parties to resolve the matter immediately to avoid further operational collapse.
