Karachi, December 21, 2025 — Bargah-e-Adab International hosted a tea reception titled “Samandar, Chai Aur Khoobsurat Shaam” in honour of renowned poet Rahat Zahid and singer Jamal Akbar at Beach View Club. The event celebrated Pakistan’s rich literary and musical heritage, bringing together prominent figures from the literary and cultural community.
Attendees included Aftab Alam Qureshi, Rehana Roohi, Ayub-ul-Hassan, Kamran Usman, Afroze Rizvi, Dr. Sikandar Mutrib, Rais Khan, Mansoor Sahir, Naseem, Shahid Fahad, Gul Afshan, and Sharmeen Kanwal. The evening featured a poetry session where Rahat Zahid recited her works, and Jamal Akbar captivated the audience with his musical performance.
Speaking at the occasion, Sabin Saif, Chairperson of Bargah-e-Adab International, emphasized the importance of recognising literary and artistic personalities as vital for a healthy society. She said Rahat Zahid, through her poetry, and Jamal Akbar, through his music, have played an essential role in spreading hope and positivity, representing Pakistan’s positive image internationally.
Expressing gratitude, Rahat Zahid thanked Bargah-e-Adab International for arranging the event and highlighted the need to continue honouring those associated with literature and the arts. Jamal Akbar remarked that such initiatives are crucial at a time when younger generations are moving away from books and classical music, adding that cultural events help preserve Pakistan’s artistic traditions.
