Independent Report
Sibi | Jan 11, 2026:
Passengers and local residents have lodged strong complaints against Baba Hotel and Restaurant, located on the Sibi Bypass, accusing the management of overcharging and exploiting travelers.
According to complaints, food and beverages at the hotel are sold at rates significantly higher than market prices. Passengers alleged that while tea is commonly available for Rs60 to Rs70 at other roadside hotels, Baba Hotel charges Rs100 per cup, along with inflated prices for other items.
Travelers further claimed that transport drivers are allegedly provided free meals and facilities to forcefully stop buses and coaches at the hotel, shifting the financial burden onto passengers through excessive pricing. This practice, they said, particularly affects poor and unsuspecting travelers.
Public circles have demanded immediate action from the district administration and Price Control Committee, calling for inspection of rate lists, imposition of heavy fines, or sealing of the hotel. They also urged authorities to take strict action against the alleged nexus between hotel management and the transport mafia.
