News: Gilgit: The Department of Planning & Development, in collaboration with UNICEF, organized a seminar titled “Nutrition and Health-Related Legislation and Policy Framework” at the New Secretariat Conference Hall. Special Guest Minister Raja Nasir Ali Khan highlighted that malnutrition remains a major barrier to regional development. The seminar emphasized local awareness on nutrition-rich diets, implementation of food laws, and strengthening institutional coordination. Secretary Food Safdar Khan confirmed that the GB Food Act is in effect, enforcing strict monitoring of food quality and immediate legal action against substandard products. UNICEF’s ECD Manager, Dr. Saba Shuja, stressed that proper legislation and resource allocation are vital for children’s nutrition and safe milk supply.
