ISLAMABAD: Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon hosted a special dinner in honor of Pakistan’s leading media anchors, journalists, and analysts, where issues related to media freedom, democratic stability, and the challenges facing the journalism sector came under detailed discussion.

The event was attended by PPP’s central leader Faryal Talpur, Central Information Secretary Nadeem Afzal Chan, senior leaders Nayyar Bokhari and Qamar Zaman Kaira, along with several prominent figures from the country’s media and journalistic community.

 

During the gathering, participants exchanged views on the media’s role in promoting public awareness, responsible reporting, and highlighting citizens’ issues. All participants unanimously agreed that an independent, responsible, and stable media is essential for the protection and continuity of democracy in Pakistan.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Faryal Talpur said, “A free and responsible media forms the foundation of any democratic society. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will continue its full cooperation and support for the media.”

 

Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon reaffirmed the government’s commitment, stating, “The Sindh government will continue to provide all possible support for transparent information dissemination and public awareness. The PPP has always respected the freedom of expression and upheld the rights of media professionals.”

 

Participants acknowledged that the media plays a pivotal role in social reform and strengthening democracy, emphasizing the need for continuous dialogue and collaboration between the government and the journalistic fraternity.
