QUETTA: The Chief Secretary, Shakeel Qadir Khan has directed to the concerned high ups to expedite further the process of repatriating illegal immigrants from the province.
He stated that government employees are servants of the public, and all officers must remain dedicated to serving the people with a spirit of humanity. Working for the welfare of the public, he emphasized, should be the foremost duty of every individual and institution.
The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of adopting public service as a guiding principle and resolving citizens’ issues through transparent and effective governance. He added that government plans and policies are being designed with the goal of improving the quality of life for every citizen and promoting social stability.
He expressed these views while addressing the conference of commissioners and deputy commissioners here on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Zahid Saleem, Secretary Information Imran Khan, Secretary Industries Khalid Sarpara, commissioners, and deputy commissioners who joined via video link.
The Chief Secretary mentioned that under recent government initiatives, temporary appointments have been made in the education and health departments, which are expected to significantly improve the performance of government institutions. He also instructed that the vacant temporary positions in the education department be filled promptly for the third phase of recruitment.
He further directed strict monitoring to ensure that goods are supplied at official rates so that consumers can have access to quality products at affordable prices.
He also emphasized ensuring the timely and complete supply of medicines to hospitals.
The Chief Secretary directed district administrations to continue holding open kachehris to resolve people’s problems promptly.
He noted that the activation of official social media accounts would help improve communication and timely dissemination of government information to the public.
He added that a ban on plastic bags has been enforced to protect the environment, and strict implementation is being ensured to reduce pollution.
During the briefing, the deputy commissioners informed that efforts to repatriate illegal immigrants from various districts are underway, and a large number of people have already returned to their home countries.
