Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari expressed solidarity with the brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran while travelling from Islamabad to Baghdad. As the presidential aircraft entered Iranian airspace, the President conveyed a goodwill message to the Iranian leadership.
The message was addressed to the Supreme Leader of Iran and the President of Iran, reaffirming Pakistan’s respect for Iran and highlighting the historic, cultural, and neighborly ties between the two countries. President Zardari emphasized the importance of mutual respect, regional cooperation, and the promotion of peaceful relations in the region.
He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing cooperation on regional issues, and maintaining close coordination to ensure stability and harmony. The President also conveyed best wishes for the Iranian leadership and people, expressing hope for further strengthening of people-to-people ties between the two nations.
