KARACHI: All police personnel found involved in the alleged gang rape of a girl in Thull, Jacobabad district, have been arrested following the directions of Inspector General of Police Sindh, Javed Alam Odho.

According to the inquiry report ordered by the IG Sindh, cases have been registered against the arrested officers under relevant legal provisions. The concerned Station House Officer (SHO) has also been suspended for negligence in the performance of duties.

IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho directed that strict departmental action be ensured against all responsible officials. He further ordered that the affected girl be provided complete protection along with all necessary legal assistance.

Stressing zero tolerance, the IG Sindh stated that there is no place for “black sheep” in police uniform, adding that no one is above the law and those responsible must be made an example. He reaffirmed that the police are duty-bound to protect the life and property of citizens and such elements will not be tolerated in the force.
