Al-Kawthar University Hosts Faith and Future Summit in Karachi; Sindh Government Announces Scholarship Support
Karachi (Staff Reporter): A Faith and Future Summit was organized by Al-Kawthar University at a local hotel in Karachi. The chief guest on the occasion was Sindh Minister for Education Syed Sardar Shah. Vice Chancellor Dr. Athar Mehboob and SISL President Ustad Asim Ismail welcomed the provincial minister. A large number of national and international scholars, educationists, policy experts, and students attended the summit.
Addressing the gathering, the Sindh Education Minister said that achieving the target of enrolling one thousand students within a short span of one year was a commendable accomplishment. He stated that institutions that combine ideological foundations with modern technology represent the need of the future, adding that the true spirit of education lies in its ethical and responsible use. Stressing the continuation of intellectual and academic dialogue, he announced that the Sindh government would cooperate with the university in providing scholarships.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Athar Mehboob said that the purpose of organizing the Faith and Future Summit was to serve as a bridge between Islamic thought and modern requirements. He emphasized the need to address contemporary issues while keeping the Islamic jurisprudential system in view. He added that Al-Kawthar University aims to provide young people with a platform for intellectual guidance.
SISL President Ustad Asim Ismail stated that they seek a higher education system aligned with the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), enabling students to resolve present-day issues in the light of religion. Head of the Pakistan Hindu Council Dr. Ramesh Kumar said that there are similarities among all religions and that the teachings of every faith promote humanity.
Among others who addressed the ceremony were Sheikh Kashif Naseem Dilkusha, Air Commodore (Retd.) Shabbir Ahmed Khan, Dr. Amjad Saqib, Dr. Justice Syed Muhammad Anwar, Professor Mehmet Bulut, Dr. Noman Ahsan, Dr. Huzaifa Bin Ahtaram Ahmed, Dr. Humayon Dar, and Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi.
At the conclusion of the event, motorcycles were distributed among 40 male and female students.
