IGP Orders Enhanced Ramadan Security in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, February 22: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has ordered enhanced vigilance and foolproof security arrangements across the federal capital for the holy month of Ramadan.
Chairing a high-level meeting at Safe City Islamabad, the IGP reviewed comprehensive security, surveillance and rapid response plans. The meeting was attended by DIG Security Muhammad Atique Tahir and other senior officers.
Detailed discussions focused on effective utilization of Safe City cameras, real-time monitoring through the central control room, enhanced surveillance of sensitive locations and ensuring immediate emergency response.
The IGP directed continuous monitoring of mosques, imambargahs, commercial centers and marketplaces, with strict action against any suspicious activity. He emphasized that the modern Safe City surveillance system would play a pivotal role in maintaining peace during Ramadan and instructed officers to perform their duties with professionalism and coordination.
Later, the IGP visited the Ramazan Sasta Bazaar in G-11 to review security and traffic arrangements. He ordered strengthened monitoring at entry and exit points, visible police deployment and measures to ensure public convenience.
Reiterating the force’s commitment, the IGP stated that all available resources would be utilized to maintain law and order, adding that protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
