Kohat. February 22: COMMISSIONER KOHAT’S TIMELY ACTION SAVES 21 LIVES OF NEWBORN BABIES IN LMH KOHAT.
COMMISSIONER RECOMMENDS DISCIPLINARY ACTION AGAINST THE DMS LMH AND SDO PESCO FOR NEGLIGENCE.
Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah has paid a surprise visit to the Liaqat Memorial Women and Children Hospital Kohat on Saturday night under the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Program “Awami Agenda”, where after seeing the plight of 21 newborn babies in the incubators of the nursery due to power outage from 2 lines and the generator malfunctioning, he called the Hospital’s DMS and SDO PESCO. Despite hectic efforts both of them were not contacted.
The Commissioner Kohat has for this serious neglect of duties, suspended the DMS LMH and recommended immediate disciplinary action against him while a letter was also sent to the Chief PESCO for action against the SDO concerned.
Commissioner Kohat sent his staff to restore electricity to the hospital and saved the lives of 21 newborns. Commissioner Kohat Division also took serious notice of the pathetic cleanliness condition of the hospital and brought the head of the hospital and other related staff from home and the entire hospital was cleaned in the darkness of the night.
Mothers, patients and people present in the hospital appreciated the Chief Minister’s Program “Awami Agenda” and termed the swift midnight action by Commissioner Kohat as highly satisfactory.
