Chilas, February 23: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan & SAFRON, and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam, paid a one-day visit to Chilas today, Sunday, February 23. On this occasion, Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Mr. Gulbar Khan, along with provincial ministers and other senior government officials, warmly welcomed him.

Addressing the gathering, the Federal Minister stated that the legitimate demands of the affectees of the Diamer Bhasha and Dasu Dams would be resolved. He further informed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a special committee to thoroughly review these matters.

Engineer Amir Muqam emphasized that the development of Gilgit-Baltistan is among the top priorities of the government, and 30% more funds have been allocated compared to the previous year. Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also announced the establishment of Danish Schools, which will be inaugurated after Eid.

The Federal Minister appealed to the affectees to form their own committee and negotiate with the government committee while temporarily calling off their sit-in. On this occasion, Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Mr. Gulbar Khan, also urged an end to the sit-in. Meanwhile, the head of the affectees’ committee requested time to consult before providing a response.
