QUETTA: The Inspector General of Prisons, Balochistan, Shujauddin Kasi has started bringing remarkable reforms in prisons of the province.
The reforms are aimed at improving facilities in the prisons and promoting rehabilitation programmes there, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
As part of this, three-day constitution meeting was held on the draft of Balochistan Prisons and Reforms Services Act here.
The activity was organized in collaboration with the UNODC by the Inspectorate General of Prisons Balochistan.
The meeting was attended by the senior officers of Prisons of Balochistan and Deputy Inspector General Persons, Hyderabad Region, Sindh Prisons.
The participants discussed in detail the draft law so as to prepare strategy for jail reforms after mutual cooperation and knowledge sharing.
It may be mentioned here that this initiative is part of the comprehensive efforts made for improving the reforms system of the country as the Sindh Prisons and Reforms Services Act 2019 has been enforced to protect the basic rights and welfare of prisoners.
