UTHAL: Pakistan Coast Guards have launched a crackdown on illegal fishing and smuggling operations in the country’s coastal waters. According to a press release, the coast guards seized 10 trawlers during operations in November and December, which was welcomed by local fishermen.

Trawling is a banned fishing method that not only severely damages the marine ecosystem but also affects the livelihoods of fishermen. Additionally, trawling boats are often involved in other illegal activities, including arms and narcotics smuggling.

The Pakistan Coast Guards have reaffirmed their commitment to performing their duties to the best of their abilities, without succumbing to any pressure, to protect the country’s coastal and marine areas. This operation is part of the coast guards’ efforts to prevent illegal activities in the country’s coastal waters.
